Glitter Punk Jewellery
One of the stores our shopping script buys packages from is Glitter Punk Jewellery out of London, England (Instagram @glitter.punk). This is where our script has found some colorful acrylic, jewellery & pins and stickers. Sarah, who runs the shop sat down with our shopping robot to discuss her operation.
-What would you do if someone sent you a live bobcat in the post?
I’d jump out of the way so I don’t get scratched in the face!
-How do you get inspiration for your designs?
I have lots of themes I like to explore – I’m particularly obsessed with cats and really enjoy drawing animals! I also like to play with opposites, as well as celestial and witchy themes. Most of my inspiration comes from doodling and daydreaming until something catches my eye and I develop it further!
-How did you get started with Glitter Punk?
I started small back in 2015 – I’d been casually illustrating for a few years and was looking for a creative release from my corporate job. I started out designing acrylic jewellery, with lots of trial and error along the way! I don’t have any formal artistic training so it’s interesting so see how dramatically Glitter Punk has evolved through the years.
-What is your favorite book?
I love historical fantasy; I’ve read The Watchmaker of Filigree Street more times than I should probably admit! Anything by Laura Purcell is also a great read, and I still crack out the Harry Potters on an annual basis!
-What can I do to keep my jewellery looking the best?
For metal based jewellery and pins I’d always recommend storing them somewhere they can’t get scratched. Occasionally if they get little marks you can use jewellery cleaning cloths to buff them up, and you can also try toothpaste or hand lotion if the cloths don’t work. But use any product with caution and test on a small area first!
-Do you have any tips for Americans or Canadians visiting London?
It’s a fantastic city, whatever your passions are, there’ll be something here for you. I love Somerset House which often has lots of small but interesting exhibitions, the weekend food market at South Bank, and watching the world go by with a slice of cake in Soho! I’d also recommend a trip to Shoreditch or Hackney for a different perspective view on the city. Also, always stand on the right on the tube!

An Infestation Of Ladybugs/Ladybirds
I hope Juliette has lots of aphids! Wikipedia tells us that entomologists widely prefer the names ladybird beetles or lady beetles as these insects are not classified as true bugs.
Pixel Bound Studios
One of the stores our shopping script buys packages from is Pixel Bound Studios based in Michigan, USA (Instagram @pixelboundstudios). Here our script has been able to find some high quality ceramics and chibi stickers.
Pixel Bound Studio is run by Ashley, an independent artist whose two favorite things are cuteness and clay. She loves animals, so a lot of her work is inspired by them.
Pottery is Ashley’s true passion and now that she has a kiln, has started to add pottery to her store.
About her process she says, “I shape the clay into a ball, throw it onto the wheel, then center it. Centering is essentially making sure when I open up the clay ball to form a mug, bowl, vase, etc, the sides are even. I pull and push the clay into what I want, always remembering… “Its just clay.” Don’t take things too seriously, experiment, and have fun – three good rules to live by for the potter. :)”

The Persnickety Co.
One of the stores our shopping script buys packages from is The Persnickety Co. out of Manchester, England (https://persnicketyco.co.uk). It is a cute and quirky gift shop full of handmade gifts.
The shop is run by Cheryl and Emma, two friends who met in a 9-5 office job and decided that together that they wanted to take on a new challenge and the rest as they say is history!
Their favorite and bestselling gifts are their Make A Wish Bracelets with funny quotes and sayings.
Cheryl and Emma are both hopeless romantics with a sunny disposition and a positive outlook and they wanted The Persnickety Co to reflect this. They want their products to bring a smile to their customers faces and hope they show just how much they love what they are doing now.

beanforest
One of the stores our shopping script buys packages from is button making machine beanforest (@actualbeanforest on Instagram).
Vince, the proprietor of beanforest, is an artist born, raised, and currently tromping around in Grand Rapids, MI. When not filling orders, he enjoys drawing, writing, reading, biking, dancing when appropriate, and recreational screaming-at-the-heavens.
It all started when Vince’s 2009 tax return was spent on a button machine almost as a joke. The money probably would’ve been whittled away on books, DVDs, and bars if left to its own devices, so it seemed as good an option as any to blow the cash on something with a price tag larger than $20. He had always drawn comic strips, greeting cards, etc, to entertain myself, friends, and bored coworkers, and a pinback button felt like another usable surface to cover in jokes and strangeness.
Worst case scenario, Vince thought, the machine gets used a few times and then stuffed in the back of a closet waiting for the inevitable evening when friends are over goofing around on the porch, and someone says something funny, and someone else says, “haw haw, that’d be funny, on, like, a button!” and then his eyes could light mischievously and he would scamper inside saying, “hold on just a sec…” We are glad that the button machine has spent exactly zero days stuffed in the back of a closet, as it has now supplies our subscribers with quite a few interesting and unique buttons!
