Item Of The Day: Tiny Red Mushrooms

Our shopping script sent scrappapertiger in Edinburgh these little fairy garden mushrooms which she posted on Instagram. There are lots of these in the database, so add fairy garden to your keywords if you’d like to spice up some of your potted plants and turn them into a magical world. Or you could just confuse your co-workers with a few figurines on your desk.

Keywords: mushroom, figurine, fairy garden, tiny, red

Item Of The Day: Medieval Prussian 1630 Metal Coin

The bot has found this replica of a medieval Prussian coin on AliExpress. With a bit of poking around I was able to identify it as a replica from 1630 during the time of the Thirty Years’ War.

It has gotten good feedback from subscribers. One wrote in the public description “Awesome replica coin; I would love to get more items like this. Bobcat brought the awesome today!”

Keywords: medieval, coin, replica, medal*

Item Of The Day: Microwood Elephant

Featured at the end of one of Monday Madness’ unboxings, this cute little wooden elephant from Etsy is assembled from cut out pieces of cardboard.

The seller writes, “The cards won’t break because of the extreme flexibility of our wood and can easily be cut out by a knife, scissors, punching. The Postcards are containing a “Elephant ” that can be broken out by the receiver of the postcard and put together like a real little cute Elephant! The Elephant can then be used as a lovely decoration.”

Item Of The Day: Hodor Door Wedge

This neat HODOR door wedge on Etsy caught my eye. The design is carved into alpine ash (also known as Tasmanian Oak or Victorian Ash). The wedge is shipped from Australia, which of course is not far from Middle Earth. It hasn’t gotten any dis-likes! The Etsy seller notes that the darkening of the engraving is not due to the timber being burned during cutting, or by laser. When timber is carved the end grain is revealed which takes up the oil finish more readily. What a fantastic way to keep a door open.

Item Of The Day: Captain America Shield Iron on Patch

Want to add some red, white and blue to your favorite jacket? Are your clothes missing a little righteousness? Our algorithm has bought 39 of these Captain America iron on patches from Amazon so far. Practically everyone who received it so far – likely Marvel fans – have given the product good feedback.

Keywords: comic, sewing, star, patch, round, super hero, Amazon, Captain America*, iron on patch, applique

Items Of The Day: Happy Pills, Rabbits & Crystal Pink Pen

Our shopping script has sent Gemtasticfantastic some awesome packages, which she posted yesterday on Instagram. It looks like she got a couple cute rabbits and a pink pen with crystals in it. Pens are always practical. She also got several dozen colorful capsules with tiny scrolls inside for notes. Perfect for a dead drop to pass messages to your agents in the field. Send notes to co-conspirators. They could also be used as time capsules in a pinch. Do not consume!

Monday Madness PokéBobcats Part 4

In their fourth and final part of this PokéBobcats series – where they pitch Pokemon against each other for valuable packages ordered by the bot – our friends at Monday Madness get quite a few metal products, which are of course ceremoniously banged on the table to verify their authenticity. Perhaps because of the keywords, the algorithm has decided to send more packages with pop culture references. Spoiler alert: no elephants this time!

“Get it out of the freaking packaging!!”
