Bliss Balm was inspired by Laura’s 12 year old daughter Kayla and her love for making slime. After testing and making every slime recipe she could find and getting her friends opinions about them, she convinced Laura that others would love to buy her slime too! They combined her love for slime and my entrepreneurial skills and BlissBalm was born!

Laura wanted to make more creative themed upscale slimes, so she started to research the market & learned what kids really wanted! Soon after Laura and Kayla started brainstorming and realized they had so many great ideas that they decided to make our own slime creations for the world to enjoy. Being an entrepreneur, Laura thought this would be a great way to teach her daughter how to help run a business, earn money and start saving money for her future. They offer unique slime & slime making supplies for you and your family to enjoy.

The store is run by designers Kristy and Tommy Kronquist out of Minnesota. Our script has found that Medium Control has some original coasters and interesting designs.

The Medium Control was born in 2001. After college, Tommy knew he wanted to work for himself as a designer. It was a time of long nights and new beginnings.

On top of building a reputable portfolio of design clients, Tommy needed an additional creative outlet to express his own ideas and explore multiple mediums. The first endeavor was an apparel + accessory line. This was inspired by the snow/skate/surf culture he was deeply invested in, and his newfound love for classic modern design principals + philosophy. Out of this exploration The Medium Control was born.

What started with a couple t-shirt ideas has grown into a true creative business. Today as the business continues to grow, it allows Tommy to share his minimalist art + design with those who appreciate a modern, clean, and thoughtful aesthetic. Providing the individuals amongst us with hand printed apparel, art and home goods.

The store is run by Brandy Smith out of Sacramento, California. Our script has found that Zen Threads is a good source for affordable, wearable art with great vintage designs.

All their designs are printed in a rotation. This way they are able to offer several color options for each design. Zen Threads has made a commitment to our earth and use a GREEN printing process, free from any harmful chemicals or solvents.

Julie described for us how her story began…

“I was teaching school during the day and all the while dreaming about making pretty things…. I sketched designs and collected vintage fabrics. I tucked away lovely crepe paper folds and piles of vintage hats covered in millinery flowers. My collection of wonderful vintage supplies was growing at an alarming rate.

Then one day at an artist sale I found a cool hand lettered wood sign that said ‘Live What You Love’ and I decided right then {after buying the sign} that is what I would do, it would be my goal to make pretty things every day.

I bought a new camera, took a class to figure out how to use it and then opened my Etsy shop.

I still remember the first item I listed on Etsy. It was a pink wool zipper purse I made with the softest pink wool and a vintage zipper from my collection. When I sold that pink purse and sent it out into the world to my first customer it was all wrapped up in pretty tissue and ribbons and I knew then it was just the beginning for me and my shop.

For a while I taught school during the day and worked in my shop on the weekends, but pretty soon I realized it was time, I was ready to take the leap….

That was the year I quit teaching school and I started working full time in my shop.

Today my kitchen counters are covered with newly dyed silk velvet, bottle brush trees, and crepe paper garlands set out to dry. I spend my mornings sewing ruffles on the sewing machine my dad gave me in high school and my afternoons packing up boxes to mail all over the world. “

One of the stores our shopping script buys packages from is Pixel Bound Studios based in Michigan, USA (Instagram @pixelboundstudios). Here our script has been able to find some high quality ceramics and chibi stickers.

Pixel Bound Studio is run by Ashley, an independent artist whose two favorite things are cuteness and clay. She loves animals, so a lot of her work is inspired by them.

Pottery is Ashley’s true passion and now that she has a kiln, has started to add pottery to her store.

About her process she says, “I shape the clay into a ball, throw it onto the wheel, then center it. Centering is essentially making sure when I open up the clay ball to form a mug, bowl, vase, etc, the sides are even. I pull and push the clay into what I want, always remembering… “Its just clay.” Don’t take things too seriously, experiment, and have fun – three good rules to live by for the potter. :)”

The shop is run by Cheryl and Emma, two friends who met in a 9-5 office job and decided that together that they wanted to take on a new challenge and the rest as they say is history!

Their favorite and bestselling gifts are their Make A Wish Bracelets with funny quotes and sayings.

Cheryl and Emma are both hopeless romantics with a sunny disposition and a positive outlook and they wanted The Persnickety Co to reflect this. They want their products to bring a smile to their customers faces and hope they show just how much they love what they are doing now.
